Network
Marketing--A to Z is an encyclopedia of fun facts, figures and tips
for success in this amazing industry.
Before
I begin, let me define network marketing.
Network
marketing is a people business; it's a relationship business. It's a
business of listening to people, recognizing their “problem” and
then educating on how your product or service can ease the pain of
their problem.
How
effectively you do this and teach others to do the same, determines
how successful you will be in the industry.
That's
the brief intro. Here are links to a few earlier posts which give you
more details as well as perspectives:
Now,
let's begin with the ABCs.
A
is for Attitude. As
motivational speaker John C. Maxwell said in his book of the same
name, Attitude is “The Difference Maker.” Your Attitude in how
you approach something and your reactions to situations, is key. Any
business has inherent frustrations and challenges in the never ever
ending journey of success. As Maya Angelou said: “If you don't like
something, change it. If you can't change it, change your Attitude.
Don't complain.”
B
is for Business. Network
marketing is a Business. It can generate whatever income you want be
it a few hundred dollars a month to 5, 6 or even 7 figures a month.
In fact, according to the Direct Selling Association, 92% of the
people involved with network marketing do it on a part time basis.
Here's
where it becomes interesting and you can see the potential of this
Business model. Of the 8% who do it full time, it is their primary
source of income for their families: the minimum full timers make is
$40,000/year (more than half the amount of a 2 income family), 40%
make $60-$70,000 and 25% make $100,000+ which is the mark of a
professional career.
C
is for Consistent. If you
want network marketing to generate an income, you must be Consistent
in your actions and treat it like the business that it is. It is not
so much the amount of time invested rather it is the Consistent
action.
A
person who is serious about a business will be Consistent. They will
make the calls, set the appointments engage with the customers or
prospective business partners, do the follow up and Consistently
repeat these actions along with a few others.
Look
at it this way. If you opened a restaurant, you would be there each
day at the appointed hours. You would have food available to prepare
and staff to take care of your customers. You would not just “show
up” when you felt like it. You be Consistent so that your customers
could depend on the restaurant being open at certain hours.
Network
marketing, a serious business, is no different. You must be
Consistent if you want customers and potential business partners to
recognize that you are, in fact,
in business.
Did
the ABCs help you understand a bit more about network marketing?
